Principal’s Flyer #12: November 5, 2023

Dear Students & Families:

We hope you’ve enjoyed a wonderful fall weekend!  Warriors student athletes have been busy!  We’d like to congratulate our Varsity Field Hockey, Football, and Soccer Teams on wonderful seasons, and we’re still rooting for our Warrior Cheerleaders and Cross Country Athletes and Unified Hoops teams, which are competing in tournaments / meets this and next weekend!  And…hot off the presses, congratulations goes out to our Varsity Cheer Team, which has again become the MidWach League Champions today. As always, stay tuned for updates on social media, Warrior News, and Athletics pages!

What we love most about athletics, of course, is a focus on character, persistence, tenacity and grit; which we know are traits of both successful students and people as our Warriors enter the workforce.  This week, we are celebrating our Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA’s) Youth Ambassadors, who attended leadership meetings over the last couple weeks with Mr. Bond.  Kudos to our 2023 Youth Ambassadors: juniors Ava Burke, Amanda Iannacone, and Hunter Barlow!

Finally, speaking of leadership, today we’re also celebrating 9th grader Kelly Taylor, who is a Massachusetts Project 351 Ambassador (2022) and continues her dedication to community service.  Kelly provided service to support Warmer Winters via “Sheriff Lew’s” coat drive.  You can see a couple of photos of Kelly here, and catch the wider news story here. Bravo to Kelly and all volunteers for their ongoing service!

Finally, please be reminded that we have an election and holiday schedule this week.  Students have No School on Tuesday, November 7th to accommodate elections in the HS gym and Faculty Professional development…and NRSD has No School on Friday, November 10th in observance of Veterans Day.

Powder Puff Football, November 15th!

If you’re not aware of our Annual Powder Puff Football event…you should be!  This NRHS tradition pits the Lady Warriors senior athletes against our junior athletes in a highly competitive flag football game, coached, reffed, and cheered by some of your NRSD fan favorites.  This year’s game will be held on Wednesday, November 15th @ 6:00 PM.  Special thanks goes out to Varsity Letterman’s Club and Gansett Athletics for sponsoring this event.    Fireworks will be held at 7:30 PM after the game!
