December 20, 2024
1. Week Ahead: There will be no school from Monday, December 23rd- January 1st. School will resume on Thursday, January 2nd.
2. Drop off and Pick Up: We are noticing that arrival and dismissal for pick ups and drop offs are taking longer than usual. In the morning, it would be very helpful to have students with jackets and backpacks on and ready to get out of the vehicle while waiting in the line. Family members dropping off do not need to exit their cars. In the afternoons, especially with older children, staying in the car would also help to move things along quickly. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.
3. New Title I Reading Specialist: We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Danielle Acevedo is joining us as a third Title I Reading Specialist. Danielle comes with a wide variety of experiences and is excited to join the TES team. Her start date will be January 13th.
4. Snack: All students eat a snack at school daily. Please be sure to send your child to school with a healthy snack. We do not have any extra snacks at this time.
5. Excused Absences for Sickness: Please be aware that if you call your child out sick, that is not an excused absence. We can only document excused absences with a doctor’s note. If your child is sent home by the nurse and they have to be out for 24 hours or more due to fever or illness, that is also excused. Attendance letters will be sent out after break for anyone who has been out unexcused for more than 5 days. This is a state requirement. It is not meant to be disciplinary but in some cases of extreme absences, we may request a meeting to discuss how we can assist you.
