Principal’s Flyer #3: September 1, 2025
Dear Students & Families:
We hope you’ve enjoyed glorious late summer weather on a holiday weekend. Thank you today goes out to Varsity Letterman’s Club, and specially Ms. Caouette and Ms. Lyons for putting together a fun afternoon of Welcome Back Bingo on Thursday. In recent years this has become a tradition that caps our first couple days of schools with some fun as students acclimatize to new classes, routines, and get into the flow of the school year. Thank you to VLC and our staff for supporting this event, and bravo to all Warriors for doing a nice job getting situated with our school expectations. Our students are typically very good about this, but this year in particular, Warriors were attentive and set a positive tone for the school year. In sum: nice start Warriors!
Much of the information in this brief memo will consist of key reminders regarding information we previously sent out late summer, given the volume of information we know families process to start the school year. Thanks to all students and families on a very smooth return to back to school routines last week. We look forward to building on a great deal of positive momentum for Week #2!
Back-to-School Reminders: Schedule |
As we are all getting back into the groove, we’ll paste our schedule below for one more week.
Doors open @ 7:00 AM to families dropping students off in the front horseshoe of the MS/HS building complex. School begins at 7:30 AM sharp.
Dismissal is at 2:05 PM on all full days.
Half Day Dismissal occurs at 10:55 AM. We will alert you to those days in advance as they come up.
Student Lunch Block Schedules are found here and are always linked in the banner of weekly updates. Teachers reviewed the lunch block schedule with students on the 1st day of school, so students should be confident about their lunch blocks!

Student Handbook & Back to School Forms |
Student / Family Handbook. Thank you for reviewing and acknowledging receipt of the student / family handbook at your earliest convenience.
The portal will send you to a link to review the handbook.
Please note that a 1:1 chromebook / device will not be issued to students until this step has been completed
In addition to completing the Student / Family Handbook through the portal, please be advised that students were given a variety of forms on Thursday of last week. If anyone has any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call in the main office and we can help you orient…and these forms are largely self-explanatory:
Social-Media Restriction Opt-Out Form (All Students)
Military Recruiting Op-Out Form (Juniors and Seniors only)
Senior Privilege Form (Seniors Only)
Caring for Kids Preventative Dental Programs (All Students)
These forms may be returned in one of three ways, depending on your family’s preference/comfort:
Students may choose to drop them off in the high school main office
Students may leave them with their A block teacher and those forms will be given to the main office
Families may drop them off directly in the high school main office
Forms and the handbook should be returned by the end of the week if at all possible. Thank you!
Warriors Gear! |
Are you looking for some Warriors Gear to kick off the school (or alumns), need to update that 1973 hoodie (polo or track jacket) that is now beyond “vintage”? Here’s the link to our online store.
Benchmark Academic Testing: Math & Reading |
All families are advised that we administer brief mathematics and reading benchmark testing three times yearly to help monitor student academic progress within the year so our teachers can adjust instructional practices and make decisions to best serve students’ needs. Wherever students are, we emphasize growth and improvement.
These brief assessments will begin this Friday (9/5) in Math and ELA classes
These assessments generate a snapshot of student progress particularly helpful to review during parent/guardian - teacher conferences
Save the Date: Fall Conferences will be held November 24th and 25th this year. We begin sending out signup information later this coming fall well in advance of conferences.
School Pictures September 9th & Yearbook Senior Portraits |
School Pictures for all students will be held on Tuesday, September 9th and Senior families are advised that senior portrait date signups are ongoing.
Update to Senior Families (Class of 2026), due to high demand, we have added an additional Senior Portrait Date for those looking to purchase Senior Portrait packages.
The date of 9/18 is now available if you are still looking to purchase a package
Note to families for the Yearbook ONLY photo option, that date will be assigned over the next couple weeks
