Principal’s Flyer #2: August 23, 2025

Dear Students & Families:

Welcome back (almost)!  We are looking forward to the school year and a couple strong days to kickstart the opening of school.  As we get into a routine, these updates typically are sent on Sunday evenings.  However, with the anticipation building for the year, we’re sending this letter earlier than usual.

For students and families new to NRHS, if you’ve wondered what we typically do the first couple days of school, here’s a sneak peak: Day 1 (Wednesday, August 27th), we will run a normal school day schedule so students get comfortable with routines, meet their teachers, and gain a sense for what typical day’s schedule will look like.  Day 2, we will work all students through a speciality schedule to meet with our students to review common expectations and how students can set themselves up for success this year, and then we spent the afternoon doing some all school welcome back activities (think bingo)!  All in all, the first week is short and flashes by, but it supercharges the school with vibrance and positive energy.  We look forward to you all very soon!  And if you’re a student reading this: just know that we’ll help you with the details and where to go, etc.  You just focus on enjoying seeing your peers and connecting with your teachers positively the first couple days.  It’s going to be a great year.

Special thanks goes out to our Warrior students and staff who welcomed 8th graders and students new to the district the last couple weeks.  You all brought the energy and we can’t wait to see you on a daily basis.  Here are just a couple photos that capture one of the teambuilding activities for the day!

  • Given how much time we spent each winter and spring building you  schedules that works well given recommendations and interests, most schedules you will find work well in getting you as many classes you hope to take as possible.
