🛜 Digital Citizenship Follow Up

In April, NRSD hosted several presentations about digital citizenship and online safety featuring Greg Kulowiec. Students attended separate middle and high school presentations, and parents / guardians, were invited to an evening session. Please see, below, a message from the district:

We're excited to share highlights from our recent student assemblies on digital citizenship and online safety. Our guest speaker, Mr. Greg Kulowiec, engaged students in thoughtful discussions about making smart choices online, protecting their privacy, and being positive digital citizens.

To help continue these important conversations at home, we are sharing a follow-up video specifically for parents and guardians. The video provides an overview of what was covered with students and offers practical tips for supporting your child's healthy relationship with technology. You can access the video here.

We encourage you to watch the family video and discuss these topics with your child. Having ongoing conversations about digital citizenship helps reinforce responsible online behavior and keeps communication channels open.

If you have any questions about the presentation or would like additional resources, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Be BIKE AWARE! 🚲

🪖Did you know it's state law that riders under 16 are required to wear a helmet?

The NRSD Student & Family Handbook also requires any students riding a bicycle to school to wear a helmet.

🚦 Did you know that there are laws governing the safe operation of a bicycles--including separate, additional laws for e-bikes--that all riders are required to follow?

head😃 Get involved! Join a Club or Activity!

NMS offers several ways for students to get involved beyond the school day. Students should listen for morning announcements, read The Friday Memo, and watch the lobby whiteboard and monitor for announcements regarding club start dates, directions for joining, and when the club runs. Clubs meet right after school and end in time to catch the late bus!
