School Resource Officer
The mission of the Templeton Police Department School Resource Officer is to continue to institute new programs, provide security, and develop a rapport with the students, faculty, administrators and parents: to enable every student in the Narragansett Regional School District the opportunity to learn to their full potential in a safe environment both in and out of school and to develop a support system to serve as a link between the school and the community involving Department of Social Services, Department of Mental Health, the Courts and parents.
The School Resource Officer program is a nationally accepted program involving the placement of a law enforcement officer within the educational environment on several different levels. The officer is involved in a variety of functions:
- As a visible, active law enforcement figure on campus dealing with any law related issues.
- As a member of the faculty and administrative team working hand in hand solving problems in the school community.
- As a resource for the students, which will enable students to be associated with a law enforcement figure in the students' environment.
